The ‘gap year’ comes to an end…

This crazy move to the Alps was only ever going to be for a year – less, in fact, as I could take a year’s maternity leave and we didn’t move until Alpine Girl was seven weeks old.  She is now nearly 11 months old so it’s time to start thinking about the next chapter in our life…

A perfect rainy day

Alpine Papa works very hard during the week, but doesn’t (usually) have to work on Saturday or Sunday.  I therefore look forward to the weekends so I can share pooey nappy duties and so we can get out and explore as a family (instead of me wandering up mountains and though forests on my own, as tends to be the case during the week).  Alpine Papa, on the other hand, looks forward to the weekends so he can sleep and relax and generally not do much.
